Another New Year: 2026-01

Super Achievement!

Our son Dennis de Jong has been ranked among the top 1000 licensed real estate agents nationwide, out of a total of 1,554,604. Can you imagine how proud we are?

Highlights!

My mother’s historical account about the life of innocent civilians in Japanese concentration camps during World War Two in the Pacific is still being shared. I am grateful.

How to extend not just life span, but health span

I read an interesting interview of  Hank Wuh, MD, MPH, on LinkedIn. He is talking about the key to a vibrant, good, long, healthy life. “We all age at a certain speed. At the same time because of innovations and technologies, the rate of slowing down aging will become faster than the rate that we live. So for every additional year that we live in the fourth quarter of life, our lifespan increases dramatically. There are so many breakthroughs. We will have to find the breakthroughs, the X-factors that will impact our life in a meaningful way, even double our lifespan eventually”.

Dr. Wuh continued to explain that he spends 10% of every day, roughly two and a half hours, on himself; taking care of his body and his mind with exercise, meditation and prayer.

It sounds wonderful, especially if you don’t have major medical problems in the fourth quarter of your life. I am going to give it a try!

Until next time,

Ronny

A New Year: Hoping for the Best Year Yet: 2025 – 06

Returning to last year, 2025

Hello again! I did not have time for anything since August except for the care of Mike. Shortly after his 88th birthday, in August, he fell, and ever since he has received Hospice care. A blessing. I can take care of him at home, with the help of caregivers and Hospice. And although Mike is bedridden, he is pain free, comfortable and happy.

In the mean time, we celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas and my birthday. I will end this post, and the year 2025, with a picture that looks like a painting. Created by my daughter-in-law with the help of AI, from a headshot in the Christmas family picture.

Be safe, be happy!

Until next year!

Ronny
